I make no apology for frequently mentioning Lawrence Bernstein’s “Info Marketing Blog”. It really is an essential resource for copywriters and anyone serious about the business of marketing.
Lawrence sent an email to his list over the weekend and I loved this comment…
“For the last few months, I’ve been wondering if it’s just me, or are most of the internet marketing ‘gurus’ from another planet?”
“With the almost daily financial implosions, record volatility and evaporation of credit, they keep on hawking the same affiliate marketing / traffic doohickeys as if it were a calm day in 2006.”
Now, I have to say there is a lot of merit in keeping some perspective and not succumbing to panic and hysteria about what’s going on.
However, there’s a big difference between remaining cool headed and being in outright denial or oblivious to what’s going on.
And it’s essential to connect with your audience and meet them where they are.
So I highly recommend the “Recession Beater” series of posts from Lawrence that will strike a chord in curent times.
The latest is “Small Business Marketing Consulting” and could prove very useful for copywriters looking to add another revenue stream to their business or simply to find new clients.
